fotos de hombres cubanos totalmente desnudos In the course of history, Cuba has been a time and place where many people from different countries have come to find refuge from their homeland. In fact, much of the country’s population today is made up of foreign nationals whose origins can be traced to all over the world. This includes a large number of European settlers that immigrated in search of work in Cuba during The Spanish-American War, many African slaves taken by force from the Americas in The Age Before Slavery, and a handful stateless Cubans who came after The Ten Years' War in 1878. It was a large number of these stateless Cubans that would eventually become the first major population of Cuban-Americans. In 1895, a war broke out between Cuba and Spain. This war, known as The War for Cuban Independence or The “Guerra de Independencia,” resulted in thousands upon thousands of Cuban natives being killed as a result of battles fought among those who believed in independence from Spain and those who believed they should stay under Spanish rule. In 1898, following the victory of the United States against Spain in The Spanish-American War, Cuba was freed from Spanish control and became an independent republic. This new nation had many people from all over the world living there. This includes a sizable population of African Americans who found freedom in Cuba and became citizens of that newly freed nation. As time passed and Cuba became a nation with its own economy and its own political system, many Cubans who were not part of the old Spanish aristocracy began to immigrate to the island. Many came seeking help in rebuilding the country after The Ten Years' War had taken its toll on social infrastructure. Others came for any other reason they could think of. This came to be known as the “importation of labor” that took place during this time. During the middle decades of the 1900s, many Cubans who had immigrated over the previous decade returned to their homeland following The Ten Years' War. They did this in order to help rebuild their country. As time passed and Cuba became an independent nation, it began to face many problems with maintaining its socioeconomic infrastructure. During this troublesome period for Cuba, it was still economically beneficial for these Cuban immigrants to leave their homeland and return to another country. The largest group of Cubans that immigrated back home during this time were Black Americans who came back seeking work opportunities in Cuba. These Black Cubans began earning money for their families in the United States, spending it on goods they were able to import. This practice caused the US Federal Government to limit how much money people from Cuba could take out of the country, until a deal was made between both nations. In 1923, a treaty was made between the United States and Cuba known as The Platt Amendment. The agreement was named after congressman Joseph R. Platt of New York. It stated that any agreement made by the United States regarding Cuban affairs must be sent to The Senate for approval before being made into law, following which it would then be enforced by The Department of State as a part of international law. cfa1e77820
